TOF Sensor Activates Monitoring
Aliya uses advanced Time-of-Flight (TOF) sensors mounted discreetly in a room to map the space and detect human movemenet in real time. It operates silently and accurately - even in darkness or cluttered environments.
Fall or Anomaly Detected
When Aliya identifies sudden changes in posture, height, or movement speed - such as a collapse or slump - it instantly recognises a potential fall or medical event, filtering out false alarms like bending or sitting
AI Tracks Body Position & Movement
Once motion is detected, Aliya’s AI begins human pose estimation, continuously analysing skeletal posture, limb angles, and gait patterns. This allows the system to recognise normal activity versus a fall or abnormal motion.
Caregivers Alerted Instantly
The system immediately sends an alert to designated caregivers or staff through a connected app or dashboard, allowing them to respond quickly - potentially preventing serious injury or escalation.

Aliya is powered by Time-of-Flight (TOF) technology – a sensor system that emits safe, invisible infrared light to map the room and detect movement in 3D.
Unlike traditional fall sensors that rely on pressure mats or video, TOF allows Aliya to track posture, orientation, and motion with millimetre precision, even in complete darkness or crowded spaces.
The system identifies 17 key skeletal points – from head to ankle – enabling precise human pose estimation for fall and mobility monitoring.
The diagram demonstrates how TOF technology emits light, then captures the reflected signal to calculate exact depth and body movement. This enables Aliya to detect falls or sudden postural changes in real time – even if the person is partially obstructed or out of direct line of sight.
The technology is non-invasive, camera-free, and reliable, with the ability to differentiate between a real fall and everyday movements like sitting or bending. Combined with on-board AI, it’s a safer, smarter way to care.
